I don't know if anyone thought we would be here. That all these generations would see another pandemic...
Yet here we are. It threw all of us, our society, our country, our world for a loop.
We are resilient though and we learned to adapt. I think in a way, it was beautiful that we spent less, but spent more in time with the ones we love. We slowed down, literally stopped and smelled the roses. I think, I hope we all learned valuable lessons.
Now, we're still figuring out the aftermath, the where do we go from here?
Normally, at our school, we encourage a great deal of sharing and sitting together. We would offer gradual admission to new students. I'd offer parents and guardians to stay and observe, or provide tours of their learning space.
Unfortunately due to the current guidelines for keeping everyone safe, I cannot offer or encourage these same things.
We will screen children prior to entry and disallow entry to anyone displaying any symptoms. We will guide your children to the classroom and bring them out to you at the end of the day. I know this will make transition more difficult, but I know our centre can handle this new challenge with compassion, grace, and sense of adventure.
Please just be patient with us as your child's safety is our utmost concern. Reassure them, show them what masks are, explain why they help and are not scary.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate.
Together as a team always,
Mrs. Lauren
